Contouring for different face shapes

This is something I learnt the other day in college and I thought I would share it with you guys.
Contouring is actually really simple to do when you know your face shape and what to do. The most desired face shape is oval so I'm going to show you the most common face shapes and where to contour to give the illusion you have this face shape. You want to use a colour that is 1-2 shades darker than your skin tone.
If you have a round face shape you want to highlight the T-zone which is on the forehead down the bridge of your nose and your chin. Then you want to shade the four corners of the face. You then want to put blusher just under the cheekbones.
If you have a square face you want to shade the four corners of the face and highlight the centre of the forehead and the chin. Then apply blusher under the cheeks towards the cheekbones.

For a triangle face also known as a pear shape you want to shade just above the jawline but below the the cheekbone. You want to highlight along the sides of the forehead and apply blusher along the cheekbones towards the temples.

For a heart shaped face you want to shade at the temples and cheeks to diminish the widths of your upper face. Highlight the centre of the forehead, under your eyes and on the chin.

I hope that this helped you to decide what face shape you have and what to do.
Thanks!
Ruth x
