How to choose the right foundation for you

Choosing the right foundation is always hard because you sometimes can't find the right type and shade of foundation for you skin, well I'm going to tell you how to find the perfect foundation for you.

Choosing the right type-
When choosing the foundation you have to thing about your skin type. If you have dry skin you want to choose and oil based foundation as this will not cling to any dry patches and gives you a dewy finish and hides the fact you have dry skin.
If you have oily skin you want to go for a water based foundation. These foundations usually say matte somewhere on the container. This foundation will help mattefy your skin and control the oil.
If you have combination skin you want to choose a water based foundation but you have to be careful because some of these foundations do cling to dry patches so you want a good moisturizer and primer.

Choosing the colour-
When choosing the colour is always difficult because there isn't always the best range of colours. What you want to do is choose 3 colours which you think look the closest to your skin colour and swipe each one on the side of your chin going a little onto your neck and which ever disappears or blends into your skin is the right one for you.

I hope that this tip helped you in finding the right foundation for you

Maybeline dream matte mousse foundation review

I have had this foundation for a while but I like to really try things out before I review them. I picked this foundation up in may at superdrug for one of their deals. I got it in the shade Ivory which was a perfect match for my skin in the summer but now it is getting into those colder months it is a little bit dark for me as I am becoming very pale.

This is a great foundation for those who have combination and oily skin as it is a matte foundation. It is more of a light coverage foundation and you can't build it up or you will have the risk of it becoming cakey.

As you can see I have used a fair bit, but I was using this when I didn't have many blemishes but I have started to get a couple and this foundation does not cover them at all.
Another down side is that it doesn't last that long and you with need to use a primer to make it last longer.

Overall I was pleased with this foundation for in the summer and when I only need a light coverage. But it isn't good for the winter and if you want a heavier coverage.

Tangle Teezer review

I know that this product came out a while ago but I have only just got it and I was so surprised at how good it was I just wanted to tell you. On Monday I went to Salon International which is a hair show and they were selling the Tangle Teezer for only £5 which is half the price of what it is in boots and I have been wanting one for a while so I picked one up.
I was fed up of having to try and brush my hair when it was wet and the brush just got stuck so when I tried this brush i was amazed it didn't get stuck at all and it got all the tangles out. I do prefer using this brush with wet hair though compared to when I used it with dry hair. On the packaging it said it is not meant to tug or pull at the hair but I did find that it did a little bit which was when I was trying to brush through really knotted bits which is understandable but this brush is a lot better than other brushes.

The brush is made up of small bristles which glides smoothly through the hair with ease and get knots out without damaging the hair that much. I did have some hair falling out but not as much a usual.

Overall I am very pleased with the brush and I might even buy one of the smaller ones for my handbag and travelling around.

Contouring for different face shapes

This is something I learnt the other day in college and I thought I would share it with you guys.
Contouring is actually really simple to do when you know your face shape and what to do. The most desired face shape is oval so I'm going to show you the most common face shapes and where to contour to give the illusion you have this face shape. You want to use a colour that is 1-2 shades darker than your skin tone.
If you have a round face shape you want to highlight the T-zone which is on the forehead down the bridge of your nose and your chin. Then you want to shade the four corners of the face. You then want to put blusher just under the cheekbones.
If you have a square face you want to shade the four corners of the face and highlight the centre of the forehead and the chin. Then apply blusher under the cheeks towards the cheekbones.

For a triangle face also known as a pear shape you want to shade just above the jawline but below the the cheekbone. You want to highlight along the sides of the forehead and apply blusher along the cheekbones towards the temples.

For a heart shaped face you want to shade at the temples and cheeks to diminish the widths of your upper face. Highlight the centre of the forehead, under your eyes and on the chin.

I hope that this helped you to decide what face shape you have and what to do.
Thanks!

Naked Palette Dupe

I love it when i find a dupe that is really good quality but cheap. The other day i was looking for a dupe of the naked palette as it makes a big hole in your pocket and I don't have that kind of money. So i was looking online when i found the palette 'Undressed' by MUA. On the mua website it costs £4. They also sell it in superdrug and i was able to get it for £3 which is a fraction of the Naked palette.

All of the colours are in the same order as the naked palette. The palette is a really nice sleek black colour with a clear lid so you can see all the eye shadows clearly.

The palette is made up of 12 eyeshadows. 10 shimmer ones and 2 matte ones.

I don't have the naked palette to compare it to but i have to say that i think the eyeshadows are really pigmented. The matte eyeshadows aren't as pigmented as the shimmer ones.

So if you want the naked palette but don't have the money just get this one. Either order it online http://www.muastore.co.uk/index.php/12-shade-undressed-palette they also do a dupe for the naked 2 palette called 'Undress Me Too' or go into your nearest superdrug.
